In a recent announcement, the authorities have revealed that a section of Mombasa Road will be closed for a week to facilitate necessary road repairs and maintenance. The closure will commence on Monday, December 25, at 9:00 pm to Sunday, December 31, at 4:00 am.  This decision comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve the condition and safety of the road.

During a press conference held earlier today, the spokesperson for the Department of Infrastructure, Mr. John Doe, provided further details about the closure. He stated, “After careful consideration and assessment of the road’s condition, we have deemed it necessary to carry out extensive repairs on this specific section of Mombasa Road. The closure is vital to ensure that the repairs can be conducted efficiently and with minimal disruption to road users.”

Mr. Doe acknowledged the inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause and urged motorists to plan alternative routes or adjust their travel schedules accordingly. He assured the public that every effort would be made to expedite the repair work and reopen the road as soon as possible. “We understand the importance of Mombasa Road as a major transportation artery, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Our teams will be working around the clock to complete the repairs within the stipulated timeframe,” he added.

In addition to repairing the road’s surface, the maintenance work will also include the replacement of damaged signage and the installation of new road markings. These measures aim to enhance road safety and provide a smoother driving experience for commuters once the section reopens.

To assist motorists during the closure, the authorities have arranged for alternative routes and detours to be clearly marked. Traffic control personnel will be deployed at strategic points to guide drivers and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

Additionally, the public is advised to stay updated on traffic advisories and follow the instructions of law enforcement officers on the ground.

The Department of Infrastructure has requested the cooperation and understanding of the public during this necessary road closure. They emphasize the importance of ensuring the long-term durability and safety of Mombasa Road, which serves as a crucial transportation link for the region. The authorities will continue to monitor the progress of the repairs and provide regular updates to the public.

The upcoming closure of a section of Mombasa Road for a week aims to facilitate essential repairs and maintenance. While this may cause temporary inconvenience, it is a necessary step to ensure the road’s long-term durability and safety. Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and stay updated on traffic advisories during the closure period. The authorities are committed to completing the repairs promptly and minimizing disruption as much as possible.
