School Principal collapses and dies on her way to school

Shitoto Girls Secondary School in Mumias East, Kakamega County Principal Madam Lily Mbati collapsed and died on her way to school.

Her son Edgar Akwabi who spoke with Citizen Digital said that his mother who was diabetic, was okay and in good spirit the previous night.

“I spoke to mum on the phone and encouraged her to take her medication, as usual, to which she replied in the affirmative,” he said.

He was shocked when one of their neighbors called him to inform him that his mother had collapsed and died on her way to school.

Ruth Musafu, Deputy Principal to Shitoto Girls Secondary School said that she remembers Mrs. Akwabi as a reliable and dedicated servant of the people who loved teaching.

“We are all going to miss her dearly. We pray for grace as we mourn our beloved principal,” she said.

The late Principal was the only Home Science teacher in the whole school, the school has asked the government to look into the matter as they are preparing to the National Exams in the next few months.

The body of the deceased was transferred to St Mary’s Mission Hospital Mortuary in Kakamega County.

This news was barely a day after Migingo Girls’ High School deputy principal Mrs. Roselyn Nyawandawas alleged killed by her son.

The sad incident that has shocked many, the son had son reportedly set his mother’s body on fire moments after committing the despicable act.
