Vihiga County female contestant for the Women Representative position opened about how a young man close to being her son sent her love messages during the just campaign period.

Ms. Winnie Majani posted on her official Facebook page narrated how the young poetic would send her beautiful messages, confessing how he loves her and would want to have a relationship that would soon lead to marriage.

She posted how she work up one morning and found a thread of messages on her phone from the young man.

“He was expressing the way he loves me dearly, wanting to look me in the eyes and confess how he and I were a couple baked in heaven and that I’m his weakness.

His rhyme and tone, you could tell, is yearning to be Okot p’ Bitek. There was nothing wrong in having our kienyeji poet brewed in Vihiga anyway,” she posted.

She also said that she did not become harsh or disgusted but instead wrote him a message as the typical son he was.

“My motherly instincts warned me from being subjective and unreasonably cruel. I knew this was my son trying to experiment with the ways of the world. I knew this was my son trying his luck,” she continued.

“I knew this was my son trying to experiment with the ways of the world. I knew this was my son trying his luck. I knew this was my son trying to get rich quickly because there was blackmail looming had I been boxed. This son of mine, I later learned, was acting for someone. He had clear instructions from the master on what to exactly tell me so that screenshots would be plastered on our indigenous social media platforms,” she said.

Ms. Majani went ahead to say that she was sure the motives of the lovesick ‘Ben Ten’ – a young man – were ill-intended and all he wanted to achieve is get the messages with the female politician and spread them all over social media sites.

“Vihiga people were to be fed on how their Woman Representative candidate wore a fair virtue tag,”  she concluded.
