The 4 commissioners who distanced themselves from the presidential results announced on Monday by the IEBC may be kicked out of office if a petition filed against them goes through.
The four include the vice chairperson Juliana Cherera, Francis wanderi, Justus nganga, and Irene masit Accused the chairman of making a unilateral decision and operating in an opaque manner.
In the petition filed in Parliament yesterday, Lawyers John wangai and kevin kiarie want the incoming Parliament to initiate proceedings to have the commissioners removed from office for violation of the constitution and electoral laws.
The lawyers argue that the four had been involved in the announcement of the results from the constituencies and that their claims that they were not involved in the whole process were false.
Further, they said that their actions were unpatriotic and violated, infringed and threatened their oath of office.
According to the lawyers, their actions were not a threat to the announcement of the results by the IEBC chairman who is constitutionally mandated to do so.
It now remains to be seen whether the legislators will grant the prayers of the lawyers and recommend the removal of the four from office.
