KEN LUGWILI ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF SEVERAL FIREARMS IN AN AUCTION

Ken Wycliff Okello Lugwili, a businessman in Kilimani,has been arrested by the police as he was found to have firearms in his office including nine escort magnum short guns, one Benelli short gun, five Guatro short guns, one savage short gun, six Walter pistols, and a total of 565 ammunition of assorted different calibres.

He is being detained at the Kilimani police station and his arrest comes shortly after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations announced it had launched a manhunt to look for him today on Wednesday.

His case is now being handled by the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) which has taken over the case for further investigations.

Ken Wycliff, is said to have rent debts that were 4,962,990, and this caused his landlord one Mr. Ballon Wanjala to go and get a court order that will allow him to auction off Ken’s things so as to pay the debt.

The landlord was granted the go ahead and on Tuesday evening some auctioneers and police officers who were with then were shocked to find one room that had the different types of firearms.

The police added that they found: 25 pistol holsters, 9 double magazine carriers, 6 single magazine carriers, 30 slings, 5 sniper altimeters, 10 sniper torches, and a certificate of registration as a firearm dealer

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a statement, however, said that the found license was suspended more than 3 years ago.
